Excellence is a habit.
Central Square Winter Guard is a successful not-for-profit, school based, competitive winter guard team based in central NY with a strong history of striving for excellence.
Two staples of every successful winter guard team, other than awesome kids and staff, are the floors and flags. To stay competitive, winter guard directors need to set an unforgettable stage for success. That's achieved by setting the visual effect first and foremost with the floor mat followed by the flags that are used in the show. This year we need to purchase 3 floors for our Cadet, JV and Varsity teams as well as flags for each. The estimated number of kids performing this year is close to 50. We need your help reaching our goal of $10,000 to purchase just these items. This doesn’t include the other equipment the kids perform with such as sabres, rifles and other props.
Almost 50% of the kids in the Central Square School District qualify for free or reduced lunch so you can imagine, the team members come from varying socioeconomic backgrounds. This means fundraising is imperative as nobody is ever turned away due to lack of resources as per our school district Board of Education Policy.
Directors Tammy and Andrew Graziano have fostered an environment that not only encourages excellence but promotes performers that are role models for the community around them. The team sees hard work as a challenge to succeed not a deterrent.
The commitment shown by this team, coaches and parents is beyond amazing. The support from families, friends and the surrounding community is even more remarkable. It truly takes a village to support this team in a way that allows them to shine their brightest. To continue down the path of excellence laid by the Graziano's, we need your help.
